My son and family moved house a couple of weeks ago. My grandson has an XBox and has added a wifi card. Their house is on AoL ADSL broadband.
They have a wireless modem/router which is set to 'All' meaning both B and G ("G" for Games?).
The wifi-enabled computers access the internet OK. The XBox fails.
I can get the XBox working here.
Here I have a LinkSys wireless router set to 'All' (B+G). I am on NTL cable broadband so my LinkSys wireless router is connected via the NTL modem to the NTL cable.
So the XBox complete with wifi card is working OK.
Can anyone suggest where to start looking for the problem?
Is the problem something specific to AoL ADSL (via a BT phone line)?

It would be worthwhile checking on son's router whether MAC address filtering and WEP encryption is set up there. If it is, then you will need to add the MAC address of the wireless N/W card to the MAC address list in the router settings. If WEP is enabled, then you need to configure the wireless card in the X-Box to have the correct WEP code for the router.

"B" and "G" are 802.11b and g presumably as it's wifi.
